We are so excited to offer you the best " Masala Chai " We have ever tasted

Masala Chai  In India, Masala Chai means 'spiced tea'. This method of combining tea with spices has evolved over countless generations. Chai is an exciting beverage, distinctive in flavor and a traditional favorite.  Our Masala Chai mix is a spice mixture with no added sugar, so you can cook and bake with it too! It is similar to the spices used in pumpkin pie, we are now pleased to offer you Janam's own special blend for getting the flavor just right.  Add the type of milk and sugar to suit your taste. To make it properly you must use paper filters. that we sell on line at http://www.teabaglady.com/

We offer two types of TEA BLENDS - Both Delisous

1. Assam Satrupa Estate CTC: CTC refers to the method of manufacturing tea leaves where they're 'cut, torn, and curled' to produce a small size of leaf (looks granular) that gives a full-bodied cup and lots of rich, malty flavor.  This is the best type of tea for making Masala Chai, though it's lovely on it's own with milk and sugar or lemon and honey.  It is a single-origin tea from Assam, India's largest tea producing region known for making this particular style of tea

2. Karens Masala Chai Tea Blend:  A combination of two wonderful black teas  Assam and Ceylon, we added cardamon pods, cloves, ginger root, aniseed, and vanilla bean. Delisious!

Directions to make;
Step 1: Add two tea spoons of either of the teas mentioned and one tea spoon of Janam' Spice Mixture and add both tea and spice mixture to our bleach free tea filter,  twist filter bag at the top.

Step 2:  Place filter bag in pot or cup,  add boiling water and steep for 3 to 5 mins, remove filter bag, add  milk and sugar to taste, or cool and refrigerate, add milk and ice later for a fabulous iced chia tea. Its that simple...

Moroccan Green Tea and Mint: Hot or Over Ice

Rejuvenate: Let your cup of tea lift you above the daily grind, filling you with calm and vitality, let  the infusion of pure water and carefully picked leaves connect you to the farmer who cultivated the tea harvest, with the person who packaged or brewed your tea and me the person who wrote this blog, and notice your breath in this moment. Listen to your heartbeat look around? Ask yourself who do you care about, who cares about you. Be grateful for this moment because actually nothing else matters for you at this moment. Rejuvenate and re-charge your soul batteries with a nice cup of Moroccan Green Tea.

Directions for Morrocan Green Tea
  • Add 1 to 1 1/2 TBS of Gunpowder Green Tea to your pot  Pour in about ½ cup of boiling water. Swirl the liquids around and then quickly pour out the water, taking care not to lose any of the tea leaves. (This will rinse out the bitterness and make it a much smoother tea).
  • Add 1 tsp of Dry Mint or a handful of fresh mint leaves
  • Add 2 - 3 TBS of Sugar or to taste
  • Add 1 TBS of  Orange Blossom Water or to taste (optional)
  • Pour in the rest of the boiling water into the Tea Pot
  • Let the mixture infuse for about 6 minutes.
  • Drink and Enjoy! Keep filling the pot with hot water for multiple infusions
Please NOTE: if using cut dry mint make sure to put it in a tea filter or a 1 mesh tea ball) so that it won’t be floating in you tea cup.)

Psalm 46, The Bible says: Be still and know that I am God. This is the gift. If you can slow down enough to pay attention to the details of this
moment then the basic goodness and raw joy of being alive is impossible to ignore. Be grateful to God for this moment

The Meaning of Tea

A Tea inspired Journey:
Most recently I watched a documentary The Meaning of Tea and read the book by the same name.  What is the meaning of tea, so it made me ask the question why do I drink tea and how does it make me feel?

I have drank tea for a very long time more than 50 years now, and for as long as I can remember. My late mother would say everything tastes better with a nice cuppa tea. Most people I meet think because I'm English I should drink tea. "Just because I'm ENGLISH, and most days I do drink tea, and always at 3pm and most nights just before bed. In the winter months I drink more tea, sometimes as many as 5 or 6 cups. I don't start my day with tea I start with a cup of coffee. then about 10:00am my need for a cup of tea begins... after that first cup of tea reward myself throughout the day depending on my mood and whats going on in my life, sometimes I don't seem to be able to get enough of the amber stuff! It sooths my soul and relaxes my mind maybe its something to do with the L-theanine thats in the tea... a natural relaxant and oftern found in many weight loss drinks.  I like to drink good black teas mostly and with milk and sugar " Assam CTC tea is one of my favourites, its a good strong tea and I like it with with lots of milk. In the summer months I drink less tea. Most recently we introduced iced tea to my collection of teas. I select these teas mainly through smell and those that appeal to my senses before its brewed.  But to be perfectly honest don't like iced teas much, no matter how hard I try just don't have a connection to it! I don't even like ice in my water. Its an American thing ( I think). I could be wrong. Tea always makes ME feel warm inside, so how can I add ice to a warm thing?

Each day at 3:00pm my automatic tea alarm goes off in my head "TEA TIME'. But WHY?

Maybe my connection to tea is a time to slow down, to be still with GOD for just a moment, be grateful, and then after the tea has been drank that moment is gone forever and I'm ready to face the remainder of the day knowing I've had that brief encounter with God over a cup of tea.

No matter how hard you try,  you cannot accelerate enlightenment. Every religion teaches the need to slow down in order to connect with the self, with others, and with a higher force. in Psalm 46, The Bible says: Be still and know that I am God."- Carl Honore, In praise of Slowness: Challenging the Cult of Speed.

Our journey is an exploration of the calm and purposeful nature of tea life, as recorded in several countries throughout the world. At the heart of this tea journey is the imperative to create a stronger interest in tea in a modern world that is fast losing it connection to the earth. Follow the meaning and journey of  TEA and see how it relates to YOU.
